Nearly one year ago, Shawnee State alumni Dane Simpkins joined the Hub as an AmeriCorps VISTA thanks to support from the Center on Rural Innovation.

Portsmouth native Tina Chabot was one of the 10 finalists in last year’s Ignite Portsmouth program. Tina is a yoga instructor, massage therapist, and health counselor in Portsmouth.

The first annual Ignite Appalachia Maker Market will be held on 3rd Street in Portsmouth May 6th and 7th.

The 2022 Glockner Dare to Dream High School Business Pitch Competition (presented by Shawnee State University) took place on Tuesday, March 1st in SSU’s Clark Memorial Library. Fifteen teams from schools across the tri-state competed for $35,000 in cash prizes.
