The program
Building the systems that turn ideas into opportunities
ComPEET is Shawnee State’s answer to a simple question: how does a regional university plug its students and faculty directly into the industries changing fastest? Funded through the NSF’s Enabling Partnerships to Increase Innovation Capacity (EPIIC) program, ComPEET builds durable bridges between campus and the companies shaping emerging technologies.
Inside the university, Faculty Fellows in each academic college serve as champions for industry engagement — weaving real-world projects into curricula, opening doors for applied research, and connecting students with external partners across disciplines.
Outside it, ComPEET gives regional employers a fast lane into Shawnee State: “Shawnee State is open for business,” as co-PI Dean Adam Miller puts it — a program built to respond quickly and effectively to industry partners.
